Exploring Emotion Through Landscape Painting

The Story Behind the Painting

“Geometric Harvest” 59” H x 94” W, acrylic on unstretched canvas. Available for purchase through Sattachi Art. Link here

"Geometric Harvest" captures the farmland on the outskirts of where I live. This piece, painted on unstretched canvas, carries a unique texture and an organic feel. The rough, uneven edges give it character, emphasizing the raw beauty of the landscape. I think those imperfections make it feel more alive. It is kind of like how nature isn't always neat and tidy either.

I've always found myself drawn to impressionism and expressionism, and I think this painting blends those influences. The vast fields stretching toward the horizon, those geometric crop lines, and the colors. I like the blues and greens. They all reflect the agricultural essence of my surroundings. It’s not about getting every detail perfect. It is about capturing that feeling, that sense of being part of something bigger.

Finding Emotion in the Landscape

For me, painting isn’t just about what I see. It is about what I feel. This piece isn’t just a landscape; it’s a reflection of my connection to the land. There’s a rhythm to it, a kind of quiet pulse that speaks to the way farmland changes with the seasons. I wanted to create something expressive, something that pulls you in and lets you feel the space, the air, and even the movement of the fields.

When I stand in front of this painting, I think about early mornings when the fields are still wet with dew and the sky is just starting to lighten. There’s something peaceful about it, but also a sense of energy. It is ike the land is waiting for the day to begin.

Creating Impact with Scale

One of the things I love about working large is how it draws you in. At 59” x 94” , "Geometric Harvest" isn’t something you can ignore. It fills a space, making it perfect for contemporary interiors. The sheer size lets the perspective take over, so you can almost step right into the fields. I wanted to create that sense of immersion, of feeling like you're standing there, looking down the endless rows of crops.

A Nod to Color and Light

Color is a big part of how I approach my work. I’ve always believed that pure colors can mix in the eye in ways that feel more alive than anything you can achieve with careful blending. There’s a vibrancy that happens when colors sit side by side, just like they do in nature. Blues, greens, and earth tones all come together to reflect the landscape’s natural harmony.

I want my work to bring a sense of calm, maybe even joy. "Geometric Harvest" is about that simple, everyday beauty that’s easy to overlook but always there if you take a moment to see it.

This painting is more than just colors on canvas. It's a piece of where I live, a piece of how I see the world. I hope it resonates with people who feel that same pull toward the land and its quiet beauty.
